I started Spooky Bones with one simple goal: get rid of the bins and bins of valuable stuff my partner had and get my closet space back! I never planned to expand my client base beyond him!
But along the way, I learned a few things.
A lot of people are in the same situation as my partner was.
As their style or size has changed, they’ve been left with a surplus of high-quality, valuable clothing that they want to see go to someone who will actually appreciate it. They keep telling themselves they’ll list it all online, but the actual process of doing that is…daunting.
Having nice stuff isn’t enough to resell successfully.
Photography quality, listing strategy, customer service, shipping speed, and seller reputation are huge factors that go into the ultimate resale price of an item. It’s not really a “set it and forget it” endeavor.
There is so much scammy behavior in the resale market.
People trawl thrift stores for gems, buy them for a few bucks and then sell them for $80. Counterfeiters are printing copies of famous designs on vintage blanks, or faking vintage tags. People are listing Temu sweaters on Poshmark with AI-generated descriptions that call them “Luxury Cashmere.” Sometimes it feels like every transaction has a schemer on one end and a patsy on the other. It’s just not the vibe.

I expanded Spooky Bones because I wanted to help. I’m not here to offer cents on the dollar for your prized possessions or to rip off buyers for my own gain. I’m here to help you get what your stuff worth and help buyers find awesome, second-hand clothing from a seller they can trust.
My clients tell me that, if it weren’t for Spooky Bones, they would have either kept their clothes in boxes in closets indefinitely, or ended up donating them. Even if they did find the time and resources to list them online, they would still likely make more by partnering with Spooky Bones. Why?

Who the heck is Spooky Bones? So glad you asked!
Spooky Bones is the ghost of a miniature poodle that lives in my house. He was invented to cover up transgressions committed by my two real, living miniature poodles, Astro and Cosmo.
Someone got into the trash while we were out? A pair of designer sunglasses has been chewed up beyond recognition? Couldn’t have been Astro and Cosmo. Must have been Spooky Bones!
The good thing about Spooky is that, despite the mischief, he lends his insights from beyond the veil to help our listings sell. He’s our otherworldly mascot!
